This requires a management information system that can both store information and reproduce it in a variety of ways that meets the needs of the line officer, supervisor, parent organization and outside agencies on which information sharing is essential.

The use of electronic monitoring has a variety of applications that can range from routine or passive compliance verification to home or institution confinement. The combination of technology and the partnering of surrounding agencies enhance supervision verification and accountability.
