Pretrial Release (PTR) – Pretrial Release officers in conjunction with the court magistrate and prosecutor, review all jail inmates and those bound over in Common Pleas Court for potential bond reduction with supervised release to include electronic monitoring. Pretrial Release provides early risk-needs assessment, screening and treatment program referral while on bond. The program also helps assure participants’ availability for future court hearings. Four Hundred Fourteen (414) jail inmates and persons bound over were reviewed for Pretrial Release and were enrolled into the program, interviewed, screened and referred for treatment and drug tested if needed and assigned to specific supervision level. Of those who participated in the Pretrial Release Program, 181 completed, with another 178 actively supervised. County jail days saved were 15,900 days representing a savings to the county of $874,500 ($55 per day) in jail costs.
